Second Explosion at Japan Nuclear Plant

Second Explosion at Japan Nuclear Plant (14th March, 2011)

A second explosion has (1) ____ at the nuclear power plant that was damaged in Friday’s catastrophic earthquake and tsunami. Wear sunscreen



Class of '99:

Wear sunscreen.

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience. I will dispense this advice now.

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. Oh, never mind. You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they've faded. But trust me, in 20 years, you'll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked. You are not as fat as you imagine.

Don't worry about the future. Or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind, the kind that blindside you at 4 p.m. on some idle Tuesday.

Do one thing every day that scares you.

Sing.

Don't be reckless with other people's hearts. Don't put up with people who are reckless with yours.

Floss.

Don't waste your time on jealousy. Sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind. The race is long and, in the end, it's only with yourself.

Remember compliments you receive. Forget the insults. If you succeed in doing this, tell me how.

Keep your old love letters. Throw away your old bank statements.

Stretch.

Don't feel guilty if you don't know what you want to do with your life. The most interesting people I know didn't know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives. Some of the most interesting 40-year-olds I know still don't.

Get plenty of calcium. Be kind to your knees. You'll miss them when they're gone.

Maybe you'll marry, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll have children, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll divorce at 40, maybe you'll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary. Whatever you do, don't congratulate yourself too much, or berate yourself either. Your choices are half chance. So are everybody else's.

Enjoy your body. Use it every way you can. Don't be afraid of it or of what other people think of it. It's the greatest instrument you'll ever own.

Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room.

Read the directions, even if you don't follow them.

Do not read beauty magazines. They will only make you feel ugly.

Get to know your parents. You never know when they'll be gone for good. Be nice to your siblings. They're your best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.

Understand that friends come and go, but with a precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle, because the older you get, the more you need the people who knew you when you were young.

Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard. Live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft. Travel.

Accept certain inalienable truths: Prices will rise. Politicians will philander. You, too, will get old. And when you do, you'll fantasize that when you were young, prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders.

Respect your elders.

Don't expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund. Maybe you'll have a wealthy spouse. But you never know when either one might run out.

Don't mess too much with your hair or by the time you're 40 it will look 85.

Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia. Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

But trust me on the sunscreen.

Japan’s Quake, Tsunami and Atomic Alert

Japan is beginning the cleanup after Friday’s (1) ____ earthquake and tsunami. The death (2) ____ is currently at 573 with hundreds more people missing. A documentary about the controversial graffitti artist Banksy

Banksy is a graffiti artist with a global reputation whose work can be seen on walls from post-hurricane New Orleans to the separation barrier on the Palestinian West Bank. He fiercely guards his anonymity to avoid prosecution. An eccentric French shop keeper turned documentary maker attempts to locate and befriend Banksy, only to have the artist turn the camera back on its owner. Includes footage of Banksy, Shepard Fairey, Invader and many of the world's most infamous graffiti artists at work, on walls and in interview. As Banksy describes it, "It's basically the story of how one man set out to film the un-filmable. And failed."

Matrícula libre para Exámenes de Certificación

Hoy 21 de marzo se abre el plazo de presentación de solicitudes hasta el 28 de marzo inclusive. Se tendrá que rellenar la solicitud online entrando en el siguiente enlace: https://www.eoidigital.com/preinsmurcia/alumnos/    o se podrá formalizar también en la secretaria del centro , de lunes a jueves de 16.00h a 20:00h , y los viernes de 10:00 a 14:00h.

·   SE  ADJUDICARÁ UN Nº DE RÉGISTRO DE ENTRADA CONSECUTIVO CONFORME AL ORDEN DE RECEPCIÓN.
NOTA: PARA SOLICITAR PLAZA EN DOS IDIOMAS O NIVELES SE CUMPLIMENTARÁ UNA SOLA SOLICITUD.

CONDICIONES DE MATRICULACIÓN:


·   TENER 16 AÑOS (cumplidos en el 2010)  o más de 14 (cumplidos en 2010) SÓLO de idiomas que NO cursen en la ESO.
·   Se podrá formalizar la matrícula en cualquiera de los niveles convocados sin que se precise la superación previa de los niveles anteriores. La obtención de un certificado posibilitará, en su caso el acceso a las enseñanzas en el primer curso del nivel inmediatamente siguiente.
·   La matrícula en régimen libre es incompatible con la matrícula en régimen presencial o no presencial en el mismo idioma en cualquier escuela oficial de idiomas, dentro o fuera de la Región de Murcia; cuando se trate de un cambio del régimen educativo oficial al régimen de libre se procederá a formalizar la anulación de la matrícula oficial, debiendo abonar de nuevo las tasas y precios públicos que correspondan.
·   Podrán matricularse en cualquier idioma impartido en una escuela oficial de idiomas distinto de los oficiales del país cuya nacionalidad ostente, entendiendo como tal aquella que conste en su documento de identidad (DNI o NIE).
·   Los candidatos que ostenten doble nacionalidad deberán hacerlo constar en la solicitud de matrícula, no pudiendo matricularse en ninguno de los idiomas oficiales de los respectivos países. La ocultación de esta condición o la apertura de distintos expedientes académicos haciendo uso de ambas nacionalidades será objeto de invalidación de la matrícula y pérdida de los derechos que ésta genere, sin derecho a devolución de las tasas abonadas.

ADJUDICACIÓN DE PLAZAS

? El 29 de marzo los centros publicaran la relación de solicitantes, ordenados numéricamente conforme al orden de recepción de solicitudes. Se dejará un plazo de 48 horas para que los solicitantes puedan formular alegaciones en la secretaría de la escuela oficial de idiomas o extensión correspondiente.

?   En las especialidades y niveles donde haya menos solicitudes que vacantes serán aceptadas todas las solicitudes. Los listados de solicitantes de las especialidades y niveles donde se dé esta circunstancia se publicarán el 4 de abril de 2011.

?   Si se diera  el caso de idiomas/niveles donde haya más solicitudes de matrícula que vacantes, éstas se asignarán por sorteo público.  El listado de solicitantes admitidos y no admitidos resultante de dicho sorteo se publicará no más tarde del 6 de abril de 2011.

?  Para los no admitidos la Dirección General de Formación Profesional y Educación de Personal Adultas asignará  de oficio una vacante en otro centro de la región. La relación de solicitantes y vacantes asignadas será publicada el 7 de abril en el portal educativo de la Región de Murcia (http://www.educarm.es/regimen_especial),  y en la página web de la escuela (www.eoilorca.org).
