Key: 5.2 Grammar: 2nd Conditional

Ex 5 (p. 51) 
In the 2nd conditional…
1. We use the past simple in the if-clause, and the would (‘d) + infinitive without to in the main clause
2. We can use a modal verb, e.g. could or might, in the main clause
3. We talk about an unreal situation in the present or future.
4. We can say If I were you to give advice.

Ex 6 (p.51)
1. knew, ‘d/would phone 
 2. had, ‘d/would advertise
3. were, would you do? 
4. would happen, advertised 
5. applied, wouldn’t/would not get
